Katie is a student journalist studying at the University of Georgia who realized she loved journalism when she started writing for the student-run, independent publication The Red & Black in her freshman year of college. An Atlanta native, she now reports on all beats for Atlanta Civic Circle. Her other experience includes editing, covering education and enterprise in Athens-Clarke County and producing documentary content in her previous internship at CNN. She wants her writing to inspire trust and understanding in her community and, in her free time, she reads, lifts weights and looks for new places to explore in the Atlanta area.
