Campaigning for: State House District 45
Rep. Sharon Cooper did not respond to the questionnaire.
Cooper has served in the Georgia General Assembly since 1996 and is seeking re-election. A former nurse, she chairs the House Health and Human Services Committee. She was one of two pro-life Republicans from East Cobb to oppose the so-called heartbeat bill when it was first passed by the General Assembly in 2019. At the time, she said: “It was a very hard decision for me, because I am pro-life. I trained in a Catholic hospital.” But she said she felt the bill was “blatantly not constitutional. And we do swear an oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States. And there are many, many flaws with it.”
