The City of Atlanta is home to half a million people, but its next mayor, city council, and school board will be chosen by about 100,000 to 125,000 voters who are expected to participate.
A total 422,383 Atlanta voters were on the rolls as of the cutoff for registering for this election, according to the Georgia Secretary of State’s office.
Early voting is now underway at voting centers and by mail.
A total 5,609 Atlantans had requested mail or electronic ballots as of Oct. 29. Friday, Oct. 22 was the deadline to request mail ballots for this election.
