Dear ACC Reader,
This election season, the future of metro Atlanta –and the nation– is in the hands of its voters. At Atlanta Civic Circle, we believe that every voter deserves clear, accessible information about the issues that matter most.
But there’s a problem. Many in our community—first-time voters, first- and second-generation immigrants, working-class residents, and those unsure about their choices—aren’t getting the information they need. They are finding it difficult to cut through the noise and tell the truth from fiction.
That’s where we come in. Atlanta Civic Circle is here to help! We’re participating in an Engaged Elections cohort, alongside other newsrooms in battleground states, to refine our coverage and better serve Georgia voters. And with our soon-to-be-released Georgia Decides voter guide, created in partnership with The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, we’re providing a free, nonpartisan resource to help voters navigate this election with confidence.
Here’s our plan:
- Listen to the Community: We’re committed to understanding what matters most to voters, especially around crucial issues like housing affordability and other cost-of-living concerns.
- Deliver Quality, Nonpartisan Information: Our Georgia Decides guide is designed to provide clear, concise information on candidates and ballot measures.
- Reach Every Corner of Metro Atlanta: To truly serve the community, we need to get this guide and our reporting into local places of worship, schools, neighborhood groups, and beyond.
But we can’t do it alone. We need your support to make this vision a reality. Your financial contribution or community partnership will help us distribute this vital resource across the five-county metro area, ensuring that all voices are heard and every vote counts.
Imagine the impact: A community where every voter feels confident and empowered to cast their ballot. With your help, we can make that happen. Our March voter guide reached more than 200,000 Georgians. Help us reach 1,000,000 before the November election.
Thank you for considering supporting Atlanta Civic Circle’s democracy work. Together, we can boost civic participation and connect residents to the information they need.
Warm regards,
Saba Long

P.S. Atlanta Civic Circle was one of 17 newsrooms nationwide to receive funding support for Democracy Day. With those dollars we hosted a focus group with African and Caribbean immigrant voters in metro Atlanta, in partnership with Capital B Atlanta.
Stay tuned for video from the discussion. For now, I’ll leave you with a quote from Keletso Thaga, a Fulton County voter who hails from Botswana. He’s in the photo below, third from the left.
“I want to see local media having discussions like this more, not just during the elections. I want them more involved and for information to get to the diaspora here in metro Atlanta.”
